The Last of the Old Bloods

So a blonde, a blonde, and wannabe-redhead walk into a bar...

Aeden Smith.
Arthur Penn.
Stephen Fall.

There was a time when Europe was ruled by vampires. They were immortal and merciless. They held entire towns in thrall to sate their need for blood.

But, their perfection of body was tempered with a single flaw-- only a few short decades of drinking blood would leave them mad, unable to do anything except the most simple tasks. And so, they were eliminated.

And yet, they persisted, though in forms quite different from those that are written of in Legends. There were the vampires who fled to the new country, the Americas, and carved out their own myths in a country that was big enough to sustain them. These were the Forest vampires, the closest to animal. Then there were the City vampires, who were able to blend in, embracing the demon within themselves and hiding in plain sight. And then, remaining behind in Europe and drawn to areas of magical activity, were the New Bloods. They, perhaps, were the closest to who their glorious ancestors had been. And yet.... the flaw remained, in some form or another, and they hid.

Only, not all Old Blood vampires fell.

There was the one who somehow managed to withstand the allure of blood across the years. He never fledged, and thus was crippled, but different power came to him in time.

There was one who was warped beyond all recognition, created so long ago and sustained for so many years that the blood madness came and went. He saw the years fall down, and waited, and eventually hid himself among his descendants, choosing to sacrifice glory for life, even as he was trapped in the body of a child.

And it was he who, in time and after regaining his old nobility, was able to create the third. The Old Blood born in the new era. His power and his destiny were incredible, and yet his past was unwilling to let him go quite yet.
